[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs did some post-draft roster trimming Thursday, releasing four players: fullback Patrick DiMarco, quarterback Alex Tanney, linebacker Cory Greenwood and offensive lineman Bryan Mattison.
DiMarco, who joined the Chiefs last season as a free agent and was promoted from the practice squad to the starting lineup by the end of the season, became expendable after the Chiefs recently acquired two fullbacks.
Tanney was nicknamed Trick Shot for the YouTube video he posted showing him making various odd throws. He also joined the Chiefs last season but never played in a regular-season game after injuring his finger in the final preseason game.
Greenwood, an inside linebacker, has played little on defense since joining the Chiefs in 2010 but has been one of their better special teams players.
Mattison was the backup center to Rodney Hudson until last week, when the Chiefs drafted Eric Kush in the sixth round.
