[ESPN.com] Tackle Eric Fisher, the first overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, has agreed to terms of a five-year contract with the Chiefs.
Fisher’s deal is for $22.2 million and includes a $14.5 million bonus, sources tell ESPN’s Andrew Brandt.
Fisher is en route to training camp in St. Joseph, Mo., where he will sign the deal and participate in the Chiefs’ afternoon practice.
Because he didn’t have a contract, Fisher was absent for the three days of rookie camp that concluded on Thursday.
While he played left tackle in college at Central Michigan, Fisher is expected to start his career in Kansas City on the right side. Branden Albert, who received the franchise tag, is the club’s starter at left tackle.
